A.F.R.O.B.A.M.—A Few Rockin' Out Bad Ass Musicians—was founded in 2023 at The Citadel. What began as a local collective has grown into a dynamic live band, performing on renowned stages across the DMV, including opening for the legendary Sugar Bear featuring E.U., appearing at the National Cherry Blossom Festival for three consecutive years, and serving as a featured act in Majic 102.3's Summer Music Series. Today, A.F.R.O.B.A.M. proudly serves as the house band of The Citadel, continuing its mission of delivering unforgettable live music while supporting the region's vibrant community of independent artists.
DMV Backyard Jam
The DMV Backyard Jam is a live music platform that gives artists the opportunity to perform their original music on an open-air stage backed by a live band. Born at The Citadel's backyard amphitheater in 2025, it has grown into a live music experience that celebrates authentic talent, builds community, and brings unforgettable live performances to audiences across the DMV.
In The Garden
The Citadel proudly served as the final stop on Jordan Myles's tour, "In the Garden" —a fitting celebration of an artist whose vision has helped shape the independent music and creative community throughout the DMV by creating opportunities, building community, and inspiring the next generation of creatives.
